A MIDLEVEL SHORTWAVE TROUGH WILL MOVE OFF THE MID ATLANTIC COAST
EARLY IN THE DAY AS AN ASSOCIATED SURFACE COLD FRONT CONTINUES SWD
ACROSS FL IN ITS WAKE. A MOIST TROPICAL AIR MASS REMAINS OVER S FL
IN ADVANCE OF THE FRONT...AND A FEW THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE
THIS AFTERNOON INVOF THE FRONT AS CONVECTIVE INHIBITION WEAKENS WITH
DAYTIME HEATING. OTHERWISE...A RIDGE ALOFT WILL BE MAINTAINED OVER
THE ROCKIES AND PLAINS...DOWNSTREAM FROM ANOTHER TROUGH JUST OFF THE
PACIFIC COAST. AN EMBEDDED SHORTWAVE TROUGH WILL ROTATE AROUND THE
SRN PERIPHERY OF A CLOSED LOW NOW NEAR 38 N AND 131 W...AND THIS
WAVE WILL APPROACH THE CENTRAL/SRN CA COAST OVERNIGHT. LOW-MIDLEVEL
LAPSE RATES AND BUOYANCY WILL REMAIN MARGINAL INLAND...BUT ISOLATED
LIGHTNING STRIKES CANNOT BE RULED OUT ALONG THE CENTRAL CA COAST
