A DEEP UPPER TROUGH OFF THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST COAST WILL TRACK
SOUTHWARD TODAY. COLD TEMPERATURES ALOFT AND STRONG ONSHORE FLOW
PATTERN WILL RESULT IN STEEP MID LEVEL LAPSE RATES AND MARGINAL CAPE
ALONG THE IMMEDIATE COAST OF SOUTHWEST ORE AND NORTHERN/CENTRAL CA.
ISOLATED LIGHTNING STRIKES WILL REMAIN POSSIBLE IN THIS AREA THROUGH
MUCH OF THE FORECAST PERIOD.

ANOTHER AREA WITH SOME RISK OF SHOWERS AND ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS
WILL BE ACROSS PORTIONS OF SOUTHERN NV/NORTHWEST AZ LATER THIS
AFTERNOON AND EVENING AS A LEAD SHORTWAVE TROUGH MOVES ACROSS THE
AREA. DESPITE STEEP MID LEVEL LAPSE RATES...WEAK LOW LEVEL MOISTURE
VALUES WILL LIMIT THE AREAL EXTENT OF THE THUNDER THREAT.
