DAY 1 CONVECTIVE OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
0634 PM CST WED DEC 22 2010
VALID 230100Z - 231200Z
...NO SVR TSTM AREAS FORECAST...
...SOUTHWEST U.S...
SEVERAL BANDS OF FRONTAL CONVECTION ARE SHIFTING EAST ACROSS THE
LOWER CO RIVER VALLEY THIS EVENING. THIS ACTIVITY HAS SPORADIC
LIGHTNING WITH THE STRONGEST UPDRAFTS OCCURRING OVER MOHAVE COUNTY
IN NWRN AZ. OTHER POST FRONTAL STORMS ARE SHIFTING INLAND ACROSS
THE L.A. BASIN INTO THE HIGHER TERRAIN OF SRN CA IN ASSOCIATION WITH
THE PRIMARY MID LEVEL CIRCULATION. GIVEN THE ONSET OF DIURNAL
COOLING...IT APPEARS THE STRONGEST CONVECTION MAY ACTUALLY REMAIN
FOCUSED WITH THE ADVANCING COLD FRONT AS IT SHIFTS ACROSS WRN PARTS
OF AZ. OTHERWISE...A FEW STRONG STORMS MAY LINGER IN THE SHORT TERM
BENEATH THE UPPER LOW BEFORE BOUNDARY LAYER COOLING HINDERS UPDRAFT
STRENGTH.
