04/04/2011 GRANT LA NWS STORM SURVEY

AN EF-1 TORNADO WITH ESTIMATED WINDS NEAR 95 MPH TOUCHED
DOWN JUST SOUTH OF GEORGETOWN WEST OF HIGHWAY 165. THIS
TORNADO CONTINUED NORTHEAST INTO THE SELMA COMMUNITY AND
INTO WESTERN LA SALLE PARISH ACROSS THE ZENORIA
COMMUNITY. DAMAGE CONSISTED OF MANY UPROOTED/SNAPPED
TREES, WITH SOME FALLING ON HOMES IN SELMA AND ZENORIA.
THIS TORNADO CONTINUED NORTHEAST AND LIFTED JUST
NORTHEAST OF HIGHWAY 84 5 MILES SOUTHEAST OF TULLOS.
MAXIMUM PATH WIDTH WAS 275 YARDS, AND A PATH LENGTH OF
9.5 MILES.

04/04/2011 LA SALLE LA NWS STORM SURVEY

THE TORNADO SNAPPED/UPROOTED NUMEROUS TREES AFTER IT
TOUCHED DOWN JUST SOUTH OF IP 13 WEST OF BRASHER ROAD. IT
CONTINUED NORTHEAST ACROSS HIGHWAY 126 INTO AN UPOPULATED
AREA IN NORTHEAST LASALLE PARISH. MAXIMUM WIDTH WAS 225
YARDS, WITH A PATH LENGTH OF 7.9 MILES. ALTHOUGH EF-1
DAMAGE WITH 95-105 MPH WINDS WERE OBSERVED ACROSS
NORTHERN LASALLE PARISH, THIS WILL BE RATED AN EF-2 WITH
115 MPH WINDS AS IT REMAINED ON THE GROUND/INTENSIFIED AS
IT CROSSED INTO CATAHOULA PARISH.
