EXPECTED TO INCREASE ACROSS NORTHERN MAINE INTO THIS EVENING.
MONITORING CONVECTIVE TRENDS...A SEVERE TSTM WATCH COULD BE NEEDED
SOON.
SCATTERED TSTMS CONTINUE TO INCREASE/SPREAD EASTWARD ACROSS SOUTHERN
QUEBEC LATE THIS AFTERNOON...WITH ADDITIONAL TOWERING CU/FEW TSTMS
ALSO NOTED OVER THE HIGHER TERRAIN OF WESTERN MAINE AS WELL AS
AROOSTOOK COUNTY. WITH TSTMS LIKELY TO INCREASE IN COVERAGE INTO
THIS EVENING...THE AIRMASS ACROSS THE NORTHERN HALF OF MAINE IS
RELATIVELY MOIST/POTENTIALLY UNSTABLE...WITH MLCAPE ESTIMATED TO BE
IN EXCESS OF 1000 J/KG. AMPLE MOISTURE/INSTABILITY IN CONJUNCTION
WITH MODERATELY STRONG WESTERLIES ALOFT WILL SUPPORT SUSTAINED
STORMS CAPABLE OF DAMAGING WINDS/SEVERE HAIL.
