MORNING...WHILE MID LEVEL HEIGHTS GENERALLY RISE ACROSS THE CENTRAL
AND EASTERN STATES. A WEAK SHORTWAVE TROUGH IS PROGRESSING ACROSS
THE SOUTHEAST STATES AND SHOULD BE OFF THE GA/FL COAST BY MIDDAY.
WIDESPREAD SHOWERS AND OCCASIONAL THUNDERSTORMS HAVE BEEN OCCURRING
ACROSS THIS REGION...BUT IT APPEARS THE THREAT OF THUNDERSTORMS WILL
END BY EARLY AFTERNOON.

STEEP MID LEVEL LAPSE RATES AND FORCING ASSOCIATED WITH THE MAIN
UPPER LOW WILL PROMOTE THE CONTINUED DEVELOPMENT OF SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS OVER PORTIONS OF THE DESERT SOUTHWEST TODAY. ISOLATED
THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE ACROSS PORTIONS OF FAR SOUTHERN CA AND
SOUTHWEST AZ...MAINLY THIS EVENING AND OVERNIGHT.
