THIS TORNADO WAS RATED EF1 WITH MAX WINDS OF 90 MPH.
TREES WERE SNAPPED AND UPROOTED AND ONE FELL ACROSS A
POWER LINE SNAPPING THE POLE. PART OF THE TIN ROOF OF A
BARN WAS DAMAGED ALSO. TORNADO PATH LENGTH WAS 3.5 MILES
AND MAX WIDTH WAS TWO-TENTHS OF A MILE.

SEVERAL INTERSECTIONS IN AND NEAR HATTIESBURG HAD BECOME
INUNDATED WITH WATER. ALSO THE INTERSECTIONS OF HIGHWAY
49 AND FORREST, HIGHWAY 49 AND MIMOSA AS WELL AS NEAR
SHONEYS ON SOUTH 27TH STREET.
