DAY 4-8 CONVECTIVE OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
0248 AM CST FRI FEB 03 2012
VALID 061200Z - 111200Z
EVOLUTION OF THE LARGE SCALE PATTERN INTO THE MEDIUM RANGE APPEARS
UNFAVORABLE FOR ORGANIZED SEVERE WEATHER. A HIGH AMPLITUDE UPPER
RIDGE IS FORECAST TO BECOME ESTABLISHED ACROSS MUCH OF WRN NORTH
AMERICA INTO MIDWEEK/DAYS 5-6. DEEP-LAYER NWLY FLOW BETWEEN THE ERN
FLANK OF THE RIDGE AXIS AND WRN/SWRN FLANK OF INTENSE POLAR VORTEX
OVER NRN CANADA SHOULD RESULT IN AIR PARCEL TRAJECTORIES ORIGINATING
OVER THE ARCTIC/POLAR REGIONS. THUS...CONDITIONS SHOULD REMAIN
GENERALLY HOSTILE FOR DEEP CONVECTION AS A DRY AND GENERALLY
COOL/COLD AIRMASS WILL COVER MOST OF THE CONUS.
