THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER IN NORMAN OK IS FORECASTING THE
DEVELOPMENT OF DAMAGING WINDS AND A FEW STRONG TORNADOES OVER
EASTERN NORTH CAROLINA AND NORTHEAST SOUTH CAROLINA TODAY AND EARLY
TONIGHT.

THE AREAS MOST LIKELY TO EXPERIENCE THIS ACTIVITY INCLUDE

EASTERN NORTH CAROLINA
NORTHEASTERN SOUTH CAROLINA

ELSEWHERE...SEVERE STORMS ARE ALSO POSSIBLE FROM CENTRAL FLORIDA
NORTHWARD INTO SOUTHERN VIRGINIA INCLUDING THE SOUTHERN DELMARVA
PENINSULA...

AN INTENSE UPPER LEVEL STORM SYSTEM OVER THE MISSISSIPPI VALLEY WILL
MOVE NORTHEAST INTO THE MID-ATLANTIC REGION LATER TODAY. A SURFACE
LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM OVER MIDDLE TENNESSEE EARLY THIS MORNING WILL
MOVE NORTHEAST AS A SECONDARY SURFACE LOW DEVELOPS AND MOVES TO
EASTERN VIRGINIA BY THIS EVENING.

STATE AND LOCAL EMERGENCY MANAGERS ARE MONITORING THIS DEVELOPING
SITUATION. THOSE IN THE THREATENED AREA ARE URGED TO REVIEW SEVERE
WEATHER SAFETY RULES AND TO LISTEN TO RADIO...TELEVISION...AND NOAA
