THUNDERSTORMS ARE CURRENTLY DEVELOPING IN NE ORE NEAR A POCKET OF
INSTABILITY ALONG A SOUTHWEST TO NORTHEAST ORIENTED WIND SHIFT.
OBJECTIVE ANALYSIS CURRENTLY ESTIMATES MLCAPE VALUES RANGE FROM 500
TO 1000 J/KG ALONG A CORRIDOR EXTENDING NEWD FROM LA GRANDE ORE TO
GRANGEVILLE ID. AS ISOLATED CELLS INITIATE AND MOVE NEWD ALONG THIS
CORRIDOR...LARGE TEMP-DEWPOINT SPREADS COULD HELP ACCELERATE
DOWNDRAFT SPEEDS RESULTING IN A MARGINAL THREAT FOR DAMAGING WIND
GUSTS. HAIL WILL ALSO BE POSSIBLE DUE TO STEEP MID-LEVEL LAPSE RATES
AND COLD TEMPS ALOFT. THE SEVERE THREAT SHOULD DECREASE QUICKLY
AFTER SUNSET AS INSTABILITY WEAKENS ACROSS THE REGION.
