MOVED NORTHEAST. MOBILE HOME ON BLOCKS DESTROYED AND
HOUSE MOVED OFF FOUNDATION NEAR START OF PATH. MINOR
DAMAGE TO HOMES IN ADOLA SUBDIVISION. SEVERAL TREES AND
POWER LINES BLOWN DOWN. ONLY EF0 DAMAGE NOTED IN
VERMILION PARISH. TORNADO CONTINUED INTO LAFAYETTE
PARISH.

THIS IS A CONTINUATION OF THE TORNADO THAT BEGAN WEST OF
MAURICE IN VERMILION PARISH. TORNADO CONTINUED NORTHEAST
WITH MINOR DAMAGE TO HOMES AND TREES NOTED. THE TORNADO
STRENGTHENED AS IT APPROACHED HWY 724/BREAUX RD CAUSING
EF1/LOW-END EF2 DAMAGE. ONE HOME HAD ITS ROOF COMPLETELY
BLOWN OFF WITH OTHER HOMES AND BUILDINGS DAMAGED.
NUMEROUS TREES AND POWER LINES WERE BLOWN DOWN. THE
TORNADO LIFTED 1 MILE WEST OF THE MALL OF ACADIANA AT 630
AM. TOTAL PATH LENGTH 9 MILES AND PATH WIDTH 200 YARDS.

EF0 TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN JUST WEST OF AMBASSADOR CAFFERY
PKWY/SETTLERS TRACE BLVD INTERSECTION IN LAFAYETTE AND
MOVED NORTHEAST THROUGH THE BEAULLIEU PLACE AND RIVER
RANCH SUBDIVISIONS. SCATTERED TREES WERE BLOWN DOWN WITH
MINOR DAMAGE TO SOME HOMES. PATH LENGTH OF 1/2 MILE AND
PATH WIDTH OF 25 YARDS.

EF0 TORNADO BEGAN IN THE THEALL COMMUNITY AND MOVED EAST
CROSSING THE HWY 82/HWY 690 INTERSECTION. TORNADO THEN
MOVED EAST ALONG HWY 690 AND STRUCK THE GRAND ISLE
SHIPYARD NORTH OF THE BANCKER COMMUNITY. NUMEROUS TREES
WERE BLOWN DOWN AND DAMAGED ALONG THE PATH...WITH MINOR
DAMAGE TO HOMES AND THE SHIPYARD. PATH LENGTH 7 MILES AND
PATH WIDTH OF 50 YARDS.

EF1 TORNADO BEGAN SW OF COLLEGE RD/BENDEL RD INTERSECTION
AND MOVED NORTHEAST ACROSS OIL CENTER AREA OF LAFAYETTE.
SEVERAL BUILDINGS HAD SIGNIFICANT ROOF DAMAGE WITH DEBRIS
FROM ROOFS KNOCKING OUT WINDOWS IN NEIGHBORING BUILDINGS.
TREES AND POWER POLES WERE DOWNED WITH SOME TREES FALLING
ON CARS. TORNADO LIFTED NE OF PINHOOK RD/UNIVERSITY AVE
INTERSECTION. PATH LENGTH OF 1 MILE AND PATH WIDTH OF 100
YARDS.
0645 AM TORNADO BREAUX BRIDGE 30.28N 91.90W
05/15/2008 F1 ST. MARTIN LA NWS STORM SURVEY
*** 1 INJ *** EF1 TORNADO BEGAN ALONG I-10 NEAR THE
WALMART AND MOVED SOUTH THROUGH THE CITY. SEVERAL HOMES
AND BUSINESSES WERE SIGNIFICANTLY DAMAGED ALONG HWY 328
AND HWY 94 WITH TREES DOWNED. TORNADO CROSSED HWY 31 AND
TURNED SOUTHEAST WITH CONTINUED DAMAGE TO HOMES AND
TREES. TORNADO CONTINUED SOUTHEAST AND AGAIN CROSSED HWY
31 WITH MORE DAMAGE TO HOMES AND TREES. ONE MINOR INJURY
OCCURRED WHEN HOME SHIFTED OFF FOUNDATION NEAR END OF
PATH ALONG HUVAL RD. PATH LENGTH OF 5 MILES AND PATH
WIDTH OF 50 YARDS.
