04/15/2011 F2 ELMORE AL NWS STORM SURVEY
AN EF-2 TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN 6.4 MILES WEST OF CENTRAL
ALONG COUNTY ROAD 334 IN NORTHERN ELMORE COUNTY.THE
TORNADO TRAVELED NORTHEAST CROSSING STATE HIGHWAY 9 IN
SOUTHERN COOSA COUNTY CAUSING STRUCTURE DAMAGE TO AT
LEAST ONE HOME IN EQUALITY...WHERE THE ROOF AND REAR WALL
WERE DESTROYED. THE TORNADO CONTINUED NORTHEAST INTO
TALLAPOOSA COUNTY WHERE TREES WERE SNAPPED IN WIND CREEK
STATE PARK. THE PATH LENGTH WAS 22.4 MILES WITH A WIDTH
OF 800 YARDS. THE MAX ESTIMATED WINDS WERE 130 MPH.
