A TRAINED SPOTTER REPORTED A THUNDERSTORM WIND GUST OF 47
MPH AT FLAMINGO AND EASTERN. THE SPOTTER REPORTED NO
DAMAGES FROM THE WIND GUSTS.

*** 1 INJ *** A LIGHTNING STRIKE CAUSED A 2-ALARM FIRE AT
A TWO STORY INDUSTRIAL BUILDING. THERE WERE SEVERAL
PEOPLE IN THE BUILDING WHEN THE FIRE STARTED AND HAD TO
BE EVACUATED AND ONE PERSON WAS TREATED AT THE SCENE FOR
SMOKE INHALATION. ESTIMATED DAMAGE TO THE BUILDING WAS
BETWEEN 50,000 AND 100,000 DOLLARS AND WAS MAINLY
CONFINED TO THE ROOF.

BETWEEN MILE MARKERS 14 AND 19.5.

SEVERAL AREA RAIN GAUGES REPORTED AROUND AN INCH OF RAIN
BETWEEN 1130AM AND 1230PM IN THE VICINITY OF JIMMY
DURANTE BLVD AND TROPICANA AVE. SEVERAL CARS BECAME
STRANDED IN THE INTERSECTION DUE TO THE HIGH WATER AND A
CLARK COUNTY SWIFT WATER RESCUE TEAM HELPED DRIVERS FROM
THEIR CARS. BROADCAST MEDIA STATED THAT THE WATER FLOODED
THE ROAD SO FAST THAT THE DRIVERS WERE NOT EXPECTING IT
AND THEIR CARS STALLED. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED.
